This is my first Laura Barnard book and I was pleasantly surprised by this and cannot wait to read her other books.
I absolutely love Rom Coms and Cock and Bull was no exception. Cock and Bull was funny, but at the same time there was love and absolute chemistry between Phoebe and Clooney!
Phoebe’s Aunt Breda lives in Ireland and passes away leaving her pub, Cock and Bull, to Phoebe and her sister Ella, who were raised by hippie parents, who travelled the world and never settled down in one definite place.
The girls move from London to Ireland to take over the pub, only to find out it’s extremely rundown and will need plenty of TLC. Here is where Clooney comes in!! J
I definitely enjoyed the many awkward and hilarious situations that the main characters go through as they try to run a failing pub. Phoebe tries her very best to turn the pub around, while trying hard not to fall for Clooney, while falling for him at the same time. I am always a sucker for these types of ensuing relationships in stories!! The boy in the town, Clooney, with the innocent, good girl from out of town! Yes, give me some more, please!!
This was a cute, witty rom com and at the same time, a nice escape type of story which everyone needs to read nowadays. Anything to escape the situation we’re all living in now and I would totally read again!
